Easy Caramel Sauce

  • 1 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 14oz can of Fat Free Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 2 Tspns Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Cup 2% Milk (don't use fat free it will be too runny)
  • 1 Tspn Sea Salt

In a saucepan, combine the Sweetened Condensed Milk, brown sugar, vanilla extract, butter, and sea salt. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil, then remove from the burner. Add the cold milk. Stir and pour into desired container.

Refrigerate for 6-8 hours to thicken and chill.
Keep in mind this is a thinner caramel sauce, but much healthier than alternate versions made with Corn Starch and/or Heavy Cream.
**If you would like to make yours thicker, then add 1/2 cup corn starch to the sauce pan with the condensed milk, sugar, and butter.
